The Secret Life Of Wes.

I thought it might be nice to break the blogging drought with a trip down memory lane. Most of you will be unaware that in a previous life our own Adam 'Wesley' Gregorace, Devoted Few bass player and purveyor of fine cheeses, was a member of the almost famous Sydney punk band, Cult 45. Actually, if you ask Wes they were entirely famous. Here's Cult 45 playing at the Metro in Sydney in 1997. Look out for Wes. He's the guy with the massive green spiked mohawk and vinyl jumpsuit! I kid you not. Enjoy!

JBHiFi 'The Mag' reviews Baby, You're A Vampire

**** You've got to love a song that grabs you from the git-go and The Devoted Few have a stack of 'em. The Sydney band's third album has incredible energy and urgency. Led by Benjamin Fletcher (who's also part of Sarah Blasko's band), The Devoted Few deliver dramatic, intelligent pop-rock, with enough twists and turns to satisfy their indie following. The incendiary opener, Trigger Fingers, sets the scene, with Fletcher declaring: "All we need is three chords, you and me". Baby, You're A Vampire should be this band's breakthrough album. IT'S ONE OF 2009's GREAT ROCK RECORDS.

Jeff Jenkins 4/5 stars

'Hey Nietzsche!' Recap

Many thanks to our good friend Craig Schuftan for inviting us to play at his book launch last night at The Hoey! And thanks to all those people who braved the torrential rain outside and the oppressive heat inside to be at the show.

For those of you who weren't there we knocked out versions of 'How Soon Is Now' by The Smiths (apologies to the purists for cutting it down to four minutes from the original six or so), Weezer's 'Why Bother?', The Cure's 'The Hanging Garden' and 'Hounds Of Love' by Kate Bush. Sarah Blasko provided a gorgeously fractured version of Bowie's 'Heroes' as well as a track from her new album.

There are a few photos and a bit of a run down of the evening over here! And some more pics over at the triple j website

Craig's book, 'Hey Nietzsche! Leave Them Kids Alone!' is out now!
